The wagons and sedans are pretty similar. The A6 wagon is maybe 100 pounds
heavier than similarly equiped sedan. Not sure of the previous generation.
Fundamentally these are 2 ton cars. I love the sophisticated feel
of our wagon and how it cruises at 110 feeling like you are doing
80. But it's still a big car and lacks any feeling of nimbleness.
I've got a 95 quattro and a friend has a 95 non-turbo Volvo and I
have to admit his car feels more nimble (it also lacks the quality
of the Audi though, with a interior more Ford than Mercedes).

The Turbo wagons don't have a 3rd seat so they have the same capacity
as the sedan. The A6 wagons have a 3rd seat but I doubt if a child over
12 would fit there. I think the seat is rated at 75 lbs per
occupant (will hold two). Works fine for small kids who don't mind
sitting on a bench (quite literally a bench with flat bottom and flat
sides).

You can't be cool in an wagon, sorry. Even if you have an S6, it's still
a wagon. I suppose you could out drag some, but there are too many
cars out there that weigh less and have high-output engines.
