RE: Replacement of 1987 Audi Head Light Assembly
Well, if it's like on my 91 200 (turbo lights, but that shouldn't
matter) you have to take off the grille. There are 4 screws holding it
in place (3 at the bottom and one on top). Carefully pull the chrome
strips that run the width of the front off - they're attached to small
bowtie plastic clips that can break. There are 3 screws on each side
holding the flat chrome trim piece on top of the bumper in place.
They're around the corner down the side and are "accessible" between the
chrome strip and the bumper with a long philips screwdriver. Once you
have removed those, you can get to the screws that hold the light in
place.
