Re[2]: Eric's demise?

I wholeheartedly agree with you on both points Paul. The issue that I
find disappointing is the fact that such quick and harsh remarks do tend
to stymie open discussion on the list. My personal goal is to do what I
can to provide factual information to the best of my knowledge to the list,
in the hope that others will do the same and we all learn. Notice that I
did not say "God's own truth" ... I have been known to be wrong from time
to time. I know of people on the quattro list that are satisfied with the
performance and reliability of their TAP-modified cars, but they are not
really interested in discussing this information on the list because of
the response that they expect. I too have heard reports of questionable
things that TAP has done, most recently in association with the 1-lap
effort. In all cases we must assume it is caveat emptor, and it may be
true that we should caveat a little more than average when considering
TAP, but I wish that all of the list members would make an attempt to
represent the facts, positive as well as negative ...
... and my hope is that no-one who is interested in Audis and quattros
is shooed from the list because of what is said on the list, be it Eric
or anyone else for that matter. Eric has fairly unique experience and
has demonstrated that he supports the list and its members in more ways
than contribution of posts.
