RE: Emission Test Failed! Help!

My understanding of the HC ppm is that is usually caused by unburned
fuel. For example, I had the secondary float set too high on a 4bbl carb
and was dripping gas into the secondaries at idle which caused me to
fail emissions a few years back. So I would ckeck for anything that
would allow fuel to go unburned. Possible causes could include: bad O2
sensor(if it's got one), weak coil, incorrect ignition timing, fuel/air
mixture settings and probably lots more things which other people on
this list will identify. Hopefully, this will help.
