If you need a fix besides the "Bob D'Amato/Ian Duff Tie Wrap Technique" tm,
I would suggest the heavy duty donuts from Techtonics, a company
that is well known amongst VW enthusiaists.  Basically, they supply
a rubber donut molded around chain.  The rubber may eventually fail
but I doubt that the chain will...
