RE: Draining 5KTQ cooling fluid
Anyone got any tricks on how to completely drain the system?
Bently says to "loosen the hoses..." on the thermostat housing and heater
supply, but that does not seem to drain much. As I want to change the coolant
type, I would like to get as much of the old stuff out as possible.
With a COLD engine, remove the upper radiator hose. Insert a garden hose into the rad and set to like medium flow rate. Run engine till clear, clean water exits from the disconnected top rad hose. Try to position the hose such that the exiting 'stuff' runs clear of the fan.....
