frustrated with the Coolant LCD symbol
Okay..
I thought I cured the problem. Guess not. For those just joining, the story
so far; succesful installation of a AC blower following directions kindly
posted to the list by frank and Eric. Following installation, the coolant
warning symbol appears on the dash LCD, in typical intermittant flashes and
beeps.
After two days of such I finally opened up the flimsy Audi cover to catch a
look at the Heater core coolant supply and recovery lines thinking perhaps I
had mismatched the two. Turns out that I didn't mismatch them, but had failed
to tighten down the clamps on the hoses. So.. I tighten them down and the Q
behaves for a few hours. Then.. the light starts flashing again. This time.. no
visible loss of coolant underneath the car.
My current guess is that the hoses slipped a bit and I need to snug them up
and then re-tighten the clamps. Perhaps they are leaking enough for the sensor
to notice. I notice very little if any drop in the level of the coolant in the
reservoir bottle. The engine isn't running hot either. So.. I guess I find out
tommorow. Does anybody have any ideas as to what I may have done wrong?

P.S. the coolant warning light wasn't acting up before the blower incident. Is
it possible, that when I and my buddy were muscling the housing up the 3" we
cracked the heater core housing? Or something along those lines? I'm becoming
very frustrated at this point.
Thanks.
