Yes! Yes! Yes!
Hiya all,
I just experienced a first for me: a car of mine sailing through its annual
test without requiring extensive/expensive surgery or bodging!
Yesterday my 1988 80 went up for its test- and made it first time! No more
lying under my car in the rain and cold trying to fix the exhaust, getting
recalcitrant lights to work while you can't see what you're doing,
replacing handbrake light switches in front of the garage/scrapyard with
too little in the way of tools (BTDT with my previous cars)... phew!
Hallelujah to the Audi Gods!
I guess Audis really *are* very good cars. Mine doesn't have the goodies
you guys are having (no power steering, no A/C, no electric nuttin') but at
least there's not too much that can go wrong- as demonstrated yesterday!
Think I'll keep the car for a couple of years more!
Bye,
Tom
1988 80 1.8S FWD
PS No engine oil temp guage, but water temp is permanently on 88C, outside
temp being in the region of 20-30C.
PPS I was passed by a Quattro 4.2 badged A6 Avant this morning. A hybrid,
or is it really possible to buy a V8 A6? Awesome car BTW, with beautiful
'Avus' alloy wheels!
