Installing Airconditioning on 5000 (audi 100cc)

Hi, 
I own a '83 audi 100cc (the US model 5000, I think) which is
still in great shape...

Thanks to the nice summer we've had over here (in holland), I am
considering installing an airco. I cannot affort the $2500 the dealer
charges for a new system, so I will try to get one from a wrecked
audi 100 someplace.

But before I do so, I really need to know if it is possible to install it
yourself. And if so, is this a difficult thing to do? I have no experience
with taking my dashboard apart... I am affraid it's just to complicated (?)

Please give me some advice on this! Thanks in advance...
