Just a coupe - L observations on oil filters, price and performance.  
Having worked at an audi dealership as the only actual Audi tech,  I have 
seen many different filters come through the bay.  Most of them were the 
cheap ones available at discount parts places around town.  The only 
filters I have seen that compare to OEM or Mann, were the Deutch brand 
filters.  These are available at Auto Zone usually 2 for $5.00.  They DO 
have a bypass valve and they have better filtration than a FRAM.  I have 
used these over the OEM (even with my discount the dealer still wanted $8 
a piece) for the last 4 years.  I have used them on the following cars:  
87 4k, 85 cgt, 87 cgt, and my wifes 88 80(4cyl) which now has over 
265,000 miles on it with only 1 major repair (Tthe final drive went out 
from towing our boat around for the last 3 years).

That's all I have to say about that.
