Re: A4 Metallic Brakepads

In my own opinion, no; a rotor turning will not eliminate brake squeal.
One thing to try: go into your local auto parts store (one dealing in
Chevy & Ford stuff, etc.  - Pep Boys, Parts America, Trak Auto, etc.);
pick up a spray can of anti-squeal compound. Remove your pads, spray
the backs, let it dry & reinstall the pads. If you only have a slight
squeal now, I bet this will eliminate it entirely for approx. $5.

 Subject: A4 Metalic Brakepads..

 Hey there,
    I just installed a set of FrictionTech brake pads on my A4. I am getting
 some squealing during braking and was told that turning the rotors (all 4)
 will eliminate this. I am inclined to agree but wanted to float the
question
 to you pro's anyway. Is this going to eliminate the noise?? and does $125
 bucks seem reasonable??? it seems mighty steep to me....
    Thanks for the help
