Re: New a4 quattro

I'd wait for the '97's if I were you. The new engine will be introduced
(turbo 4 banger 20 valve). These cars will actually be less! The reviews
I've heard from Europe are incredible on the engine, with companies
offering easy, cheap upgrades for a lot more power. I'm excited about this
engine and am ordering one of those in one of the new hotter colors.

For what it's worth (no warranty implicit or otherwise!), I was in yesterday
talking to a dealer, looking at a "low-mileage S4", chatting about the I-5
vs the A4's and the 4-cylinder, etc, and so forth. One of his comments was
that the 4-cyl cars (blocks, transaxles, CV-joints, etc.) don't have as
much capability of absorbing extra power as the typical (quote bulletproof
unquote) Audi 5-bangers of yore. E.g, that while a, for example, UrQ or
S4 could esaily support another 100 (or more) HP, the A4 drivetrain won't
be able to handle that kind of "tuning" (power) without being beefed up
substantially.

Anyone wanna buy my UrQ for way too much money, so I can buy an S4 for
way too much money?
