Starter rebuilds was: Alternator/Voltage regulator woes

I live in Oregon, and had no problem finding parts in Portland to rebuild my
Bosch starter. The part I needed was the ring gear which fell out in pieces
when I disassembled it. The cost for that part was about $9.00. Starter
still has the jet engine sound sometimes, so there must be another problem I
haven't found yet, but it works fine.
