Door Handles

Audi as with Vw's suffered from failing door handles, especially when
strong armed!  I've changed a few because of an internal piece broken
or the handle cracked and the force of opening has bent the lever to not 
allow one to enter.
Remidy: theirs two screws holding each handle on the door along with
the linkage to the central locking sys. One screw hides under the chrome
trim piece om the handle and the other  is above the main latch assy.  
under a rubber piece inline with the handle. pull these two screws and 
inspect the handles! their probably cracked. function the handles while
observing the mechanisms motion and look for limit of motion.
Handles are fairly common used and the lock tumblers are 
interchangeable.(you can put your old locks in a new handle)
