Question re: boost gauges...

Other than for diagnostic and/or tuning purposes, how often is a boost gauge
used during "normal" driving?

The reason I ask is that I'm trying to determine the best place to mount the
VDO gauge I just bought: in the direct line of sight while driving or in the
center console where I can check it when necessary but otherwise ignore it?

Of the two, I'd prefer the console since it's less conspicuous and otherwise
the more aesthetically preferable of the two locations ... but if it's going
to end up being a pain-in-the-ass to monitor (like the gauges on my 4k!) and
I'll have reason to be monitoring it often, then I'll mount it up where it's
easily seen and learn to live with the unfortunate cosmetic side-effects...

Comments anyone?
