Quantum synchro questions

Can't help on the technical side I'm sorry, but I do know that the recently
released A3 will have the VW synchro 4wd and not quattro as an option.

The reason for this is that the A3 is based on the Golf IV platform and
has the engine mounted transversly. This is apparently incompatible with
quattro - pity!
