The tools have to go home with someone eventually, so splitting the 
cost of each individual tool might not be worthwhile.  If each person 
only has to buy one tool rather than eight, though, we could see 
similar benefits.  I suppose we'd have to keep a blacklist of people 
who don't return tools...

I have a fair selection of tools, but I don't think any of them are 
Audi-specific.  Would I have to buy a special Audi tool to gain 
admission to the "tool pool?"
