Re: Headlight upgrade harness - where?

BTDT. :-( Don't do it, Tom.

The 100 watt high beams simply draw too much current and the wiring harness
supplied simply cannot handle the current loads. The sockets will slowly
char and eventually burn up. You will face a *continual* battle trying to
keep your bloomin' lights running. An absolute PITA!

I recommend getting some decent auxiliary lights, driving lights and frog (I
can't spell fog lights. :-) ) lights and mounting them somewhere convenient
(mine are below the front bumper) and running them from switches and relays.
My relays are actuated by a signal drawn from the high beam lights and/or
the parking lights depending on which system we talk about. This works
quite well for me.

The location I'm using is slightly hazardous in areas with high curbs and
steep ramps, etc. That's why I use relatively inexpensive lights which can
be replaced without excessive expenditure. If you want specific
recommendations, please ask.
