Supercharger effects the economy mush more since it is spun by the engine 
shaft. However, the lag (generally 
speaking) is non-existent on supercharged cars. Some of the cars that use 
superchargers are:

-Mazda Millenia - 2.3 I-4 develops 210 HP.

-A whole bunch of GM cars in the TOP-OF-THE-LINE 3.8L V6 getting 240 HP 
instead of 215 on normally aspirated. These include: Pontiac Grand Prix
GTP, Riviera by Buick, Pontiac Bonneville.

There are many more...


Other more specific things depend on the make and model of car and 
supercharger.
