@%#$&%!@
Go figure, monday night i finished putting in my new valve lifters, water
pump, cam seal, valve cover seal etc. Ran wonderfully all day until the
engine blew up a few hours ago! It must have not wanted me to drive it to
Michigan on Friday. With the help of Mike Spiers and Carl Jerritts we
determined that #2 had ZERO compression.
THe sequence of events were as follows: Driving in 4th at ~
3000RPM car lost all power and started making an awful clattering racket
like something was loose inside the engine. There is no visible damage on
top of piston so does that rule out dropped valve? Anyway I am P.O.'d and
it has been a really long day. Tomorrow I will haphazardly rip apart the
engine(THe intro to Star Trek comes to mind!) and determine what screwed
up. Any pointers? Ben H. I now feel your pain! This Sucks...
