Buying a quattro in the UK

It's quite normal for German companies to service walk-in customers. One of
the famous examples is Leitz, where visiting Leica users were treated as
friends as well as customers. Daimler-Benz is also very good in this respect -
most private German Mercedes customers collect their own car from the plant.
BR Motorsport, where I have my quattro serviced in the UK, automatically offers
coffee, courtesy cars, etc. You are _invited_ to go into the workshops and
chat with your mechanic, who will usually take you on a guided tour of your
vehicle and offer little bits of advice. I always make a point of checking the
tyres very throughly when the car is on the ramp.
