seat tilt adjust wheel

seat tilt-a-whirl?

The wheel/knob that adjust the seat back angle on my coupe came off in my
hand the other day.  Nothings broken, it appears that the bolt inside it
finally unscrewed.  Trouble is, it's a plastic wheel snapped onto a metal
wheel with three big interference clips.  I can't seem to take it apart,
they won't open up far enough...

Anybody deal with anything like this before?
