RE: New Paint Job

Hi Paul,

I don't believe that is the case with the new paint systems. Maybe with some

of the paints long ago, but not with what is available today. In fact, I
have an
86 coupe GT which I bought new here in Colorado, it's graphite(black
metallic)
with a clearcoat. I have maintained the car and waxed it twice a year on a
good
year. I think the paint looks great for a 10 year old car, no fogging or
hazey
sections, and the clearcoat looks great. And this is with a factory paint
job. All
in all it has held up very well.

color.

Hmmm... I had my 83 ur-quattro repainted lhasa green. It looks great. The
shop
which painted it uses a Herberts Standox paint system. It comes with a 7
year
warranty. My preference is that these cars look best in darker colors. Have
you
seen a TQC in Amazon blue? It's kinda medium blue with some grey and just a
slight hint of green. It looked very good on the car I saw. I think Paul
Timmermans
car is this color.

The often mentioned 'ginster yellow'. A rare color, for sure. In fact I saw
one on I-70
last friday. Yup, it was, how shall we say, 'visible'.

If you would like to see a green TQC before you make the decision, let me
know.
