5kS air conditioning

I've decided the black interior combined with 3 inoperative windows
may be a little to extreme for this weekend's trip.  Gonna take it
to get the A/C recharged at a local mechanic.

Any useful tips or information I should know about?  Like, "where is
the low pressure access valve?"  Seems like I saw somewhere the 
official R-12 load is 34 ounces.  Can anyone confirm?
