 Subject: Ur Q dead (again)

Here's a new one to ponder. I had the throttle
drop to the floor while driving about 3 miles from
home. I coasted into a friends driveway. Getting
out to check the throttle cable, I found it intact.
Turns out it disconnected from the pedal linkage.
Some sort of rubber bushing held them together.
So I got some string and drove it home with "hand-throttle".
A bit of a trick with a stick. Anyone got any good
suggesstions on the fix, other than bubble gum and
bailing wire? Is the a replacement bushing? Hah,
 Not likely!

I haven't had this happen on my urQ as yet, but it did happen on my
old Fox. I guess its most likely to occur when you need it most,
that's when you're stressing the cable.

The end of the cable has what appears to me to be a foam rubber piece
shaped like a sewing machine bobbin. I fixed mine temporarily by putting
a large washer over the end of the cable to hold it in place. I don't
think that Audi will sell you anything but a new throttle cable, I found
that they weren't that expensive from the dealer [for the Fox anyway] so
I simply replaced it. You should be able to fashion a replacement fairly
easily with spacers and washers if the cost is too high ...
