The Waterloo Audi Gathering UPDATE (from last Saturday)

Hey Q-gang,

Well, what can I say?  I'm a LITTLE slow in writing this summary,
but I've been VERY busy this past week.  My apologies!

Where to begin... well, it was a small group when compared to the
group that gathered in Limerock, but it was a GREAT day in Eastern
Iowa!  We had 5 cars show up (driven by people of course... they
didn't just come on their own!)  ;)

Who came?  Well, ME of course... and then there was Rusty Schlacke
from Cedar Rapids in his 95 A6Q (w/ Shaumburg mods)... Ed Kellock
from Lansing, Iowa with his 87 5kCSTQ (with IA mods) -oh yeah, Ed
brought his friend Michelle along as well!  Nice lady Ed, bring
her anytime.  Ok, back to the party...  Jordan Backus (and his
friend -also named Michelle) were there for the first time. 
Jordan drove his 'new' 1990 Audi 90 which was the only non-Q at the
event, but we enjoyed having him all the same!  Hope to see you
again sometime Jordan!   Next we had Erik Lindgren with his
pristine 1990 V8Q...  too bad Erik himself was not as pristine (he
wins the 'creative dressing' award for the event!  (I won't even
go any further, but those who were there know what I mean)  ;)  hehe


Ok, so we meet up and have a nice meal together in Waterloo (all
except for Jordan and Michelle... they ate earlier!  Ummm.. ok.  ;)

After chatting away for a while we decide to 'parade' on over to a
nice riverside park in Cedar Falls, IA.  It is truly an experience
to look in the rearview and see 4 more Audi's right behind you! 
;)  


Once arriving at the park we lined  the cars up (eventually) for a
group photo.  (Yeah, I'll get some pics on the Web once I get
them).  So we hung out and critiqued each others cars....  For
some reason I caught a lot of heat for have a 'clean engine' or
something along those lines.  ;)  Hey guys, I do auto detailing on
the side, cut me some slack... maybe I'll get the car dirty before
the next event!  ;)  haha!  There were a few test drives / rides
going on as well, but I will leave those impressions to be posted
by the other antendees.  :)  

All in all, it was a good time....  a fun afternoon with a few
Audi freaks.  ;)  Hope to do it again soon.....   and in fact, it
WILL be coming to a city near you (maybe) very soon!
