Re: 5kcsq Alignment Problem
The caster is not adjusterable according to the shop manual but you can
get about 1/2 degree of adjustement by loosening the bolts that hold the
subframe to body. Since you have negative caster then you probably need
to move the subframe forward on both sides. Just loosen the subframe bolts
enough to move the subframe, do not remove it. I think 80ft/lbs is the
torque specs for these bolts, you might want to check the Bentley manual for
this. How many miles does you car has? Are the rubber bushings in your
subframe and lower control arms in good shape. If the rubber bushings
of lower control arms(the one at the subframe end) are in bad shape, very
worn in the front may course problem for alignment. I replaced all the
bushings of the 85' 5000s that I used to own at around 80,000 miles. I even
had the anti-roll bar bushing replaced since they were in really bad shape.
Good luck,
