Flickering brake warning light

Well, it had to happen. Two days before a road trip, something
just had to go wrong with my car ('89 100Q).

Since yesterday, the brake warning light has been flickering a
little bit. Mostly, when I'm just driving along, it's off. But
when I first start up, it will go on and off for a mile or so
as I drive out to the main road.

I made two brake-pedal tests. Yesterday, it took 15 pumps to make
the light come on. Today, it was about 13.

Sound like a marginal/leaky bomb? I'm going to make some calls
around to see if I can get one locally. It looks pretty easy to
put in on my car. Is it?
