differential locks

I went and checked on the factory microfiche.  Jeez!

Yes - ur-quattros built before April 1981 had a pair of levers next to the gear 
shift.  These worked a pair of rods (usual factory threats - "left and right 
rods are _NOT_ interchangeable") that pulled on a couple of cables.  The 
drawing is _incredible_ - there are at least eight points of adjustment, and 
the instructions are amazing.

"Tighten until finger tight.  Operate a number of times.  Retighten to finger-
tight.  Turn nut twice.  Lock with new locknut."

I'm glad they dumped that contraption ...
