Oil temp sender, 4kq

Looking for a bit o' knowledge...  The later model 4kq's came with an oil temp 
and voltage guages in the diff panel.  I'm adding a three guage panel to my '84 
and need to add a oil temp sender.  Where on the 5 cyl JT? motors does one add 
such a thing?  Head or block?  There appears to be a plug in the rear of the 
head (under/near plug #5), would that be to an oil passage by chance??
