Theres a ton of stuff you can do to pick up the motor.
It all depends, on 1. How much money are you willing to spend?
You gotta pay to play!! and 2. How much power are you looking to get.
1 & 2 go hand in hand cause you can't have one without the other!
The most bang for the buck is an increase in "cubic inches"! Get the
motor bored to 83mm and install 10.5-1 pistons.
Next a Schrick cam, into a "BIG" valve head, Followed by a mild port and
polish, followed by an after market 2.5 exaust, followed by a chip, and
followed by a adjustable cam sprocket, to "dial" it all in.
Then it will perform like it should!! Lots of Torque & smooth reliable
power.
Emissions is a nother thing though!!
