1990 Coupe/Boxter/Power/Turbos and such.
I really appreciate the groups' feedback on my little issue. This is an
awfuly cool little community, and everyone has been helpful. Some even
colorful.
There are a few points I would like to discuss.
1) If I get the Boxter, I can get it for $5000 below dealer cost, not AT
delear cost.
1.1) The boxter is a 50/50 balanced car, and I've read some great things
about it (not mentioned in European Car or Auto Week) like about maintenace
and what not. It sounds like a blast. Much researc is needed, of course.
Like a test drive, which might happen in November (in Arizona at the
launch.) I will let you know.
2) I am not interested in a 360 hp Coupe because no matter what anyone says,
that much juice does not make for a lasting ride. I would be happy aroun 250
bhp, no problem. Still, information on these upgrades is scattered and there
are compatibality issues abound.
3) I was accused of not liking my coupe- this is far from the truth.
Nothing inspires me more than when I walk down to the garage and see it
there, parked next to BMW's and Toyotas, begging to be turned on and taken
out. I was spoiled when I had my M3- it was far more responsive than the
coupe and had a billion upgrades available for it. Once I was back in the
audi, the pedals felt very sluggish- so did the wheel.
I am currently in Atlanta in an oldsmobile with GPS navigation on it. These
roads BEG for the "Q" and I have seen (surprisingly?) a couple of decked out
late model 4000csq's with all sorts of extra lights and wheel upgrades, and a
nice A4q. Even in Duluth!! Next week will find me in NYC and back in LA on
the 12th. I dropped the car off to get rid of the exhaust buzz and get a new
set of wheels. 225 50zr 16's on ATS wheels, I think. 1 more day to decide.
Tea anyone??
