Tranny case leeking...

I have recently discovered a leak that seems to be coming from the 
transmission case seal.  It seems like an expensive job... :-(

I always thought that putting stop-leak stuff into the engine oil is 
stupid, because of all those minuscule passages and temperature, but 
manual transmission seems to be a much simple device.

I guess the question is: do I risk anything by trying stop-leak?

I have tightened the case bolts a bit, but am preparing for the worst...
