Ah, the _wonderful_ Oktoberfest.
I went to it once, by accident. I was in Munich on business, and had to stay
overnight. I think it was about 1984. The office manager sympathised with our
problems (no hotel rooms, place full of drunks, etc.) and threw us a few
tickets, describing each as "An Gutschein fur'n'n Gummiadler'n'n Mass".
A "Gutschein" is a voucher - a "Gummiadler" (literally a 'rubber eagle') is a
grilled chicken, and a "Mass" is a large glass pot with a little beer and a lot
of foam.
Avoid it like the _plague_. The beer is gnat's piss, the music is unrelenting
oompah, and it's a tourist trap.
