folks,
great news (if true) and hot off the press....
i guess audi is looking for additional challenges now that they've cleaned up touring car (class 2) in britain, germany and south africa already, with results in italy and germany also looking certain. is this also a way in which audi can keep in motorsport if the (rumored) rule changes by the fia outlaw awd in class 2?

The September issue of the French Sport-Auto reports that Audi is making
a World Rallye Car. That car will be based in the A4 quattro and will
have 4 WD. It seems to already exist but will start racing only in 1998."
