Steve, I installed a VDO oil pressure guage of the 0-150 psi range
(Audis run high oil press) in my 86 GT. I installed the sender unit
in the place of the high press sender of the factory system.
But I had to get a sender with 10x1.0mm threads to fit the block
threads.(special order from VDO) There are two ports on the side of the
I5n/a motor which are utilized by the factory oil press warning system.
I mearly installed a "t" fitting, into thb block(10mm x 1.0 threads)and 
plumbed the VDO sender to one end, and the factory sender to the other.

Have had this setup, untill I went with the Cyberdine guages, to match
the digital dash. Been running this setup for over 5 years now and its
wondaba!  Its also wired to a low pressure switch, which kills the fuel
pump if oil press is lost, and lights a "bright"red light, custom 
installed, in the OEM  lights spot.
