BTDT, got the t-shirt.

The sensor in question is on the metal coolant pipe that comes out
near the top of the head, about 2 cylinders back. It takes about
two minutes to remove it, and there should be little or no loss
of coolant. Hint: wait until engine is COLD to do this.

If the guage reads either 0, or correct, shifting between the two
every week, day, or 5 minutes, this is the sensor.
