old style dash

I have an '83 UrQ with an uncracked dash. Well, okay, one
tiny crack coming from the defrost cutout that hasn't made
its way over the lip. Question: As the UrQ's seem to be on
the upswing (or at least somewhat level) in value, at least in
England, does it make sense for me to do the late model
dash swap (original parts)? Should I try and stop this one
tiny crack, if so, how? I certainly didn't buy the car as a
collectors item, but..... Any input is welcome. Is it true that
the 1984 UrQ had the late model dash, despite the rest of
the line retaining the old style?
