There may be a "mystery" drain that could be the source of Tim's
problem. My own: After about 120K of fog-free window driving, including
a trip through the Midwest during the tsunami that preceded the 1993
Floods, I suddenly developed a window-fogging problem this summer with
my '92 100CSQW that I quickly traced to a water build-up that had become
so extreme (and apparently had been going on for so long) that water was
percolating through the front footwell carpets and behind the driver's
seat. The AC worked fine before and since the problem developed, and
routine AC drain line servicing did not take care of the situation. The
problem finally went over the top in NC a couple weeks ago when
Hurricane Fran blew through, dumping 9-plus inches of rain and causing
the engine-management system to go haywire as floodwaters under the
carpeting rose. I located a garage that did an emergency pump-out and
ECU and ECU connector dry out, so I could get on the road back to PA.
The source of the problem is not yet apparent to me nor the NC lads, but
my mechanic and I are going to take another shot at it early next week
and look for his mystery drain.
