Buzzing in 96 A4Q?

If I sit with the engine idling, I hear a vibrating, buzzing noise - usually
two or three in a row, once every minute or two.  At first I thought it was a
speaker wire shorting out, but upon further climbing and clambering, it seems
to be coming not from the speaker, from something just below and to the left
of the glove box... I can go get a more precise description of the spot if
anyone thinks they might have a clue.
