You'd be surprised by the gains in handling/stopping ability if you go with 
a wider tire and therefore, a lower aspect ratio (stiffer side wall). Try 
also to get a good compound, like a Dunlop SP 8000. It is very sticky and is 
very long wearing (sounds like a controvercy, but it is not).
