clunk when WE shift

Assuming nothing obvious is falling off the car,
the clunk is probably one of two things:

1) Driveline lash. My 100k 90q has some driveline lash,
meaning that the gears etc allow some play before they
"set".

2) Rear differential mounting bushings. These wore out
in my old 4000q at about 125k miles and gave a tremendous clunk
upon startup, some when shifting. New bushings made this history.

(I wonder if this is the cause of my perceived "lash" -
local shop says "nea". Maybe they're wrong?)
