VW Wheels on 4000 Quattro

I saw something that kinda concerns me.....you are saying VW 4x100 wheels
will not fit on 4000s??   

My friend had Audi wheels on his VW....and I thought they came from a 4000
series car.  

I am currently looking for a 86-87 4000 CS Quattro and have some nice white
Momo 5-star rims that fit VWs. 
I was looking forward to getting a red Quattro and putting these wheels on
it!?!?   

Is it true that I will not be able to use these wheels??   Whoa....that may
suck.
