RE: 87 GTClutch

Scanning the master parts index, it shows, that, 85-87 Coupe's
(non- turbo, non-quattro) use the same clutch system and parts!
#035-141-117Q-clutch cover 228mm(pressure plate)
#035-141-033 clutch disk 228mm
 The clutch release bearing(throw-out) 088-141-165B is the same for 
81-87 Coupes (N/A)

The quattro(non turbo) 4K uses a 240mm clutch assembly!

My experience with the clutch system for this particular application is
1. its over engineered, designed to last, durable as nuclear waste,
and my current 185hp Coupe GT, does just fine with it.

The SACHS, OEM disks are very readily STILL available, I bought three
last month!  Sach also makes a SPORT version, but recommend against it,
for street applications.

Rod at IPC has a supply of disc's at around $80 each. 1-800-472-1144,
and all other parts to make the job complete!.

Do replace the front tranny seal while you got the gear box out out!
It will save you a clutch system later down the road! BTDT.
