Re: Quattro, ur-quattro and TQC?

A number of years ago I pulled into a service station in Colorado Springs
to get gas. At one of the pumps on a nearby island was a very beautiful
white coupe. Caught my eye because something just seemed different. Late
model 85-87 style grill... but there was just some thing different... yea
it had the rings on the door; but, I've seen those added to lots of
quattros. The driver saw me staring and gave me a sly smile as he got in
to drive away. On the rear deck lid was the quattro decal! My son turned
to me and said "where are the fender flares?"

There was also a letter to the tech section of EC/VW-Porsche several years
ago From a person in Texas the had a Euro Coupe quattro - non-turbo.

At least a couple of these made it to the US.

There was a model designated the Coupe' quattro, but not in the US. The
Coupe' quattro has the Coupe' GT body, quattro AWD and NO turbo, NO fender
flares. This model is NOT the ur-q/The Quattro.

Hope this helps to stamp out some of the confusion,
