I had the same symptoms.  The good news:  They cleared right up when the 
small PC board that has relays and controls on it (mounted under/behind the 
dash) was replaced.  It got to the point where it wouldn't switch over from 
"econ" to "heat" ever.  Bummer in the middle of winter and you only get 
very cold air.

The bad news:  The PC board looks like it has no more than $10 worth of 
parts on it, but it cost $300!  Gulp.
I was almost tempted to try and fix the board myself...

Subject: 5KS CLIMATE CONTROL GREMLINS

Was wondering if anyone can help point me in the right direction on this
one.  In the past few days, my climate control has been operating rather
strangely.  When the setting is for AUTO, it appears to function
normally, however in the ECON setting, the fan discharges via the window
vents for up to 5 minutes, before it redirects to the dash vents.  Also,
when the setting is to OFF, the fan still blows (window vents).  It used
to shut off completely before.

Anyone have any ideas? TIA
