RE: Harley comment

<snip>
I am not a HD fan, though my first bike was a model 45 hard tail. I prefer
to buy substance, not image, which is why I ended up with an Audi 5000CST.
However, HDs do appeal to a lot of folks. In my opinion, it is a triumph of
image over substance, common enough in the world today. HD is just better
than others at selling it.

Huh..... I feel that Harleys are the epitome of substance, sortah like big-block V8 musclecars, and are newly manufactured antiques using updated technology, sortah like the 911. (ooooooooh sacrelige!) Anyone who thinks that today's Harley is anything like the bikes of 10-15 years ago needs to take a closer look before firing back. I too have a 5000CSTQ as a daily driver, but also a 73 RA 455HO Firebird ex CP race car that I drive on the street. The Harley is long gone but much missed, fortunatey the wife wants to get another someday when we have the bux. :) But then she only drives a 5000CSTQW so what does she know. Thank God for chocolate *and* vanilla!
