I recall this is optional, as packaged with the foul weather package of
sort. It's not that you cannot use the radar detectors, but the
sensitivity is decreased due to the metalized film (or coating?) applied
to the glass. You can see the same stuff on some Taurus, GM generic
green-house windshield minivans, and several Ford sedans. I would like to
know is how much decrease in sensitivity. Also, does it make bigger target
for Officer Bob and his cancer-inducing radar gun?
