FWIW...I had to replace the windsheild in my wifes 1988 80. SafeLite
autoglass had the best price at the time, beating the dealer by $400 and
most other glass places by about $100.
It still cost me $649, which I felt to be exorbidant. Fortunately,
though, I found out that my insurance (USAA) would replace the windsheild
if there was any defect of greater than 1/4 inch. All I had to pay was
the deductable.
With this in mind I changed my deductable to $100 and waited 2 months
then had the windsheild done. I kept the deductible at $100 for a total
of six months just because I pay my insurance ahead of time in six month chunks.
BTW> the work was done very professionally. I have no complaints about
the windsheild which is now 4 years old.
P.S. When is your birthday? Mine is also about 3 weeks away...maybe we
should get together and have Relayer buy us Wings and Beer!
