It is simply a drain valve. You screw it in once, tightly. Then
when it's time to change oil, you just flip the valve and all the
oil drains out. Flip valve closed and refill.
No more gaskets, no more risk of cross threading the plug every
time you put it back in, no more dropping it in the used oil jug.
Between this valve and the big oil collector pan (and the ground
clearance on my 100Q), I have oil change time down to 5 minutes
including wash-up.
